How Does RFID Shipping Work?
Both active and passive RFID tracking systems have two key components: a master or interrogator and a transponder, which is also known as a tag. Each tag contains a unique identification code, which enables information to be passed through radio waves. The interrogator will either process the signal transmitted by the tag or take the code from the tag and decode it before passing information to the computer. Using RFID shipping, the entire supply chain has access to accurate, real-time product and inventory data.
